Best Email Marketing Software for Restaurants (2026)

Our verdict
Brevo is the best email marketing platform for most restaurants in 2026. It stores up to 100,000 contacts on the free plan, prices paid tiers primarily by email volume, and includes marketing email, SMS campaigns and transactional email in one product. That combination fits a restaurant's mix of occasional promotions, reservation or order notifications and a large but infrequently mailed guest list.
Constant Contact is our first choice for a US restaurant that values live phone support, events, social publishing and simple SMS more than the lowest price. MailerLite is the best budget email-only option. GetResponse is stronger for elaborate email funnels than for restaurant messaging, while Omnisend is built around ecommerce behavior and now reserves SMS for its $59/month Pro tier for new subscribers.
| Rank | Product | Best restaurant use | Starting paid price | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Brevo | Email + transactional + SMS, especially outside the US | $9/month | Starter automation is capped at 2,000 contacts; Standard starts at $18 |
| 2 | Constant Contact | US local marketing, events, social and supported SMS | $12/month | No permanent free plan; SMS is US-only |
| 3 | MailerLite | Low-cost newsletters, menus, offers and simple loyalty flows | $12/month | No core-plan SMS; transactional delivery is separate MailerSend |
| 4 | GetResponse | Restaurants that genuinely need advanced funnel automation | $19/month | Starter permits one custom workflow; SMS and transactional are Enterprise features |
| 5 | Omnisend | Restaurants with a real ecommerce store and product-event data | $16/month | New accounts need Pro from $59/month before buying SMS; non-subscribers can be billable |
USD prices and limits were captured from official vendor pages on August 24, 2026. Starting prices use each vendor's smallest published audience or send tier; taxes, geography, contacts and add-ons change the final bill.
How we compared restaurant email platforms
We scored the five candidates on the jobs a restaurant actually performs: collecting consent in person and online, sending weekly offers without overpaying for dormant contacts, segmenting regulars, automating birthday or win-back messages, adding SMS, sending operational messages, promoting events, and getting help during a time-sensitive campaign. We checked official pricing, help and integration pages. We did not award points for affiliate commission and did not assume that an ecommerce connector is a restaurant POS integration. We also did not run an independent inbox-placement test, so deliverability claims are limited to documented policies and controls.

Official pricing sources: Brevo, Constant Contact, MailerLite, GetResponse, and Omnisend.
1. Why is Brevo the best overall email platform for restaurants?
Brevo's pricing model best matches a common restaurant pattern: thousands of guest records but only a few campaigns each month. The Free plan stores up to 100,000 contacts and permits 300 email sends per day. Starter begins at $9/month with no daily cap; its entry tier includes 5,000 monthly sends and stores up to 500 contacts. Standard starts at $18/month and lifts marketing automation from a 2,000-contact cap to unlimited contacts. Source: Brevo's official plan guide.
The operational advantage is consolidation. Brevo lists email and SMS campaigns plus transactional email and SMS on Free, so a restaurant can keep promotions and system-triggered messages in the same product family. This does not make every SMS free, and local consent/carrier rules still apply; it means the capability is not held behind an enterprise plan.
Brevo is not automatically the best for every US dining room. Constant Contact offers a more explicitly small-business service model and live phone support. But for a restaurant with a large guest database, irregular campaign frequency or a need to combine marketing and operational messages, Brevo is the strongest general fit.
2. When is Constant Contact better for a restaurant?
Constant Contact is the better supported choice for a US restaurant running tasting events, social campaigns and text promotions. All plans include event registration, selling products or services, payment collection, social posting, live phone/chat support and access to 300+ integrations. Lite starts at $12/month, Standard at $35 and Premium at $80. Source: Constant Contact pricing and features.
Its plan limits are unusually concrete. Lite provides one user, one automation template and monthly sends equal to ten times the contact count. Standard provides three users, three automation templates, ten contact segments and twelve times contacts. Premium provides unlimited users, custom automations and segments, plus twenty-four times contacts. Excess email is not stopped: Constant Contact says it bills $0.002 per send above the allowance.
The SMS caveat is geographic. Constant Contact SMS is available only to paid US customers. Lite and Standard can add 500 messages from $10/month; Premium includes 500. A restaurant outside the US should not select Constant Contact on the assumption that this channel is available.
3. Is MailerLite the best budget choice for a restaurant?
Yes, when “restaurant marketing” mainly means a newsletter, seasonal menus, birthday offers and a simple regular-customer sequence. MailerLite Free includes 250 active subscribers, 2,500 monthly emails, two seats and three active automations. Comfort starts at $12/month, supports three seats and 50 automations, and grants monthly sends equal to ten times the ceiling of the subscriber tier. Power starts at $25 with unlimited sends, seats and automations, subject to fair use. Source: MailerLite pricing.
MailerLite also has an iPad Subscribe app designed to collect subscribers at a store or event even while the device is offline. That is more restaurant-relevant than another hundred generic ecommerce templates: staff can capture explicit opt-ins at a tasting or the host stand and sync them later.
The trade-off is channel fragmentation. The core MailerLite plan does not include SMS or production transactional delivery; its pricing table directs users to separate MailerSend pricing. If SMS reminders and operational messages are central, price both products and the integration work before choosing MailerLite.
4. When does GetResponse make sense for a restaurant?
GetResponse makes sense for a restaurant group that will actually use sophisticated funnels, landing pages and ecommerce-style segmentation. Starter costs $19/month for up to 1,000 subscribers and includes unlimited email sends, but only one custom automation workflow. Marketer costs $59/month and unlocks unlimited workflows, advanced segmentation, abandoned-cart recovery, sales funnels, promo codes and web push. Source: GetResponse pricing.
That is a powerful marketing stack, but much of the value is irrelevant to a simple weekly-special newsletter. More importantly, the official plan matrix lists SMS marketing and transactional emails under the custom-priced Enterprise plan, not Starter or Marketer. A restaurant that needs texts at a modest budget gets a cleaner channel path from Brevo or, in the US, Constant Contact.
GetResponse advertises more than 170 integrations, but its documented Square integration processes payments on GetResponse order forms; it should not be mistaken for a sync with Square for Restaurants guest or POS data. 5. Why is Omnisend fifth for most restaurants?
Omnisend is a good ecommerce automation product, but the billing object and feature gates are a poor default for a restaurant. Free sends 500 emails per month to up to 250 contacts. Standard starts at $16/month with an allowance equal to twelve times the billable-contact count. Pro starts at $59/month with unlimited email.
The hidden operational issue is who becomes billable. Omnisend counts subscribers and non-subscribers who receive automated messages, including customers who ordered without marketing opt-in and abandoned-cart or browse contacts. That is logical for an ecommerce store but can make a customer database grow differently from a clean restaurant newsletter list. Source: Omnisend Pricing Plans 2026.
SMS also became less accessible to new small accounts. For subscriptions begun on or after May 4, 2026, SMS is available only as a Pro add-on, starting at $0.007 per message for US/Canada recipients; Free and Standard cannot add it. Choose Omnisend if online merchandise, product events and ecommerce behavioral automation are central—not simply because its marketing page mentions email and SMS.
What should a restaurant verify before buying?
- Customer-data path: identify the exact reservation, POS, online-ordering and Wi-Fi systems that create consented contacts. Verify the connector in both vendors' current directories and check whether it syncs consent, purchase data or only an email address.
- Billing object: model the real database. Brevo is primarily send-volume based; MailerLite counts active subscribers cumulatively during a billing cycle; Omnisend can count non-subscribers who receive automations.
- SMS country and plan: Constant Contact SMS is US-only; Omnisend requires Pro for new accounts; GetResponse places SMS in Enterprise; MailerLite routes it through MailerSend.
- Operational versus marketing mail: reservation confirmations and receipts may be handled by the booking/POS platform. Do not pay for a transactional add-on until the source system and ownership of those messages are clear.
- Consent evidence: a receipt or reservation is not automatically permission for promotions. Preserve the opt-in source and timestamp, and do not upload purchased or scraped lists.
Official MailerLite partner-code offer
Verification-required sample: If MailerLite officially issues partner code [CODE], approves its public display in writing, and confirms the customer benefit and expiry, this paragraph must state the standard price and the exact price change produced by [CODE] at checkout. Until that evidence exists, [CODE] is not a live restaurant discount and this block must not be published as an offer.
MailerLite's Affiliate Program Terms permit only codes or discounts issued through the program or pre-approved in writing, and otherwise prohibit public offer-code display. The code block therefore remains subordinate to the ranking: MailerLite is third because it is the best budget email-only option, not first because it has an affiliate program.
FAQ
What is the best email marketing software for a small restaurant?
Brevo is the best overall because it combines send-based email pricing, SMS and transactional messaging. A US restaurant that wants phone support, events and simple texting should also consider Constant Contact; an email-only restaurant can spend less with MailerLite.
What is the cheapest restaurant email marketing tool?
Brevo Starter begins at $9/month, Constant Contact Lite and MailerLite Comfort at $12, Omnisend Standard at $16, and GetResponse Starter at $19. Compare your actual contacts, sends and add-ons; the lowest headline price may not produce the lowest bill.
Can restaurant email software send text messages?
Brevo supports SMS campaigns and transactional SMS. Constant Contact offers SMS only to paid US customers. New Omnisend users need Pro, GetResponse lists SMS under Enterprise, and MailerLite uses the separate MailerSend product.
Does a restaurant need transactional email in its marketing platform?
Not always. Reservation, delivery and POS systems often send their own confirmations and receipts. Buy transactional capacity only if your restaurant controls those messages and has mapped the required API, sender domain, consent rules and volume.
Is there a MailerLite promo code for restaurants?
The [CODE] shown here is a placeholder, not a live discount. It can go live only after MailerLite issues or approves it in writing and the page states the verified customer benefit and expiry.
